Hello my fellow writers. I'm looking for two things; one, to spotlight your work, and two, articles on horror from dark fiction, to Bizzaro, to Splatterpunk, Steampunk, Cyberpunk, anything that is horror related. Below you will find what I require (for the interview, email me that you're interested, and I'll write up a few questions for you, and send them back. also email your article to the same addy):
FOR THE SPOTLIGHT:
- You need to be published. It doesn't matter if you are self published, or go through a publisher. All that matters is that when I show you off that people can buy your books if they feel the need after reading the post. And also it helps if your cover looks awesome. The cover will be hte first thing the reader sees on your post, so it has to be great.
- You must write: Horror, SciFi, or Thriller.
- A good picture of your face. Something that would look good on a back of a book, or a bigger version of author pic from your previous works.
- A good nice size pic of the book cover.
- Summary of the story.
- Your bio.
- Links to your social media (FB Page/Profile, Blog, Amazon page for the books)
ARTICLES REQUIREMENTS:
I don't have a lot since I want you to express whatever topic you want under the horror genre. But it has to be an awesome piece. Something you would read in a magazine. And if you have an idea which you haven't read in a magazine, that might be just the idea to send me. Make sure to talk as you would in your writing. I want your personality in this, just as I do in the spotlight interview.
- Word count-aprox. 500, though I won't be anal if it's well done. If you go to a thousand words, and it rocks, I won't complain.
- Edit your work. I'm not an editor, I'm learning the editing biz myself, so reread your work a few times, maybe out loud, have a beta reader help you.
- Topic ideas: Dark fiction, Bizaaro, Splatterpunk, Steampunk, Cyberpunk, etc. What do you love/hate about horror? Where do you see the future going with the genre or sub genres? Favorite method for killing a character? How does writing horror make you better as a person? A look at the sub genres and what they offer.-These are just off the top of my head. Feel free to add your own topic.
- A good picture of your face. Something that would look good on a back of a book, or a bigger version of author pic from your previous works.
- And this is NOT a pay sub call. I wish I could pay at this point, but I don't have it. This is a chance to get yourself out there, you don't have to send me the article if you would rather try a pay-site, which I don't blame you at all. However, if this is something you would like to do, I welcome you to The Eldon Blog!
